This is a two-day event held at Diamond Light Source, in collaboration with the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) from Thursday 11th December to Friday 12th December.
The conference features presentations from both the host organisations and experts in logistics, customs, risk management, and more. One highlight includes a presentation on Diamond-II, a transformative £520 million infrastructure upgrade that brings new logistical challenges.
This event brings together experts, partners, and stakeholders from across Europe to explore how smarter logistics can help research infrastructures focus on what matters most — delivering scientific breakthroughs. It is also a forum to openly share challenges and identify best-practice solutions together — by and for logistics experts working within research infrastructures. Through collaboration and dialogue, we aim to strengthen our collective ability to support science efficiently and effectively.
The programme on Thursday 11th December will feature presentations, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities — including lunch and a joint dinner in the evening. On Friday 12th December participants are invited to take part in site visits to the host research institutes, Diamond Light Source and STFC, for a closer look at how logistics supports world-class science in practice.
