Training

eBIC training programmes aim to:

  • Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the eBIC (Diamond Light Source) user programmes.

  • Provide essential training in the use of high-end microscopes for data collection and use of the associated software for data reduction/analysis.

  • Promote open sharing of training materials, foster collaborations and run workshops to increase community knowledge in the essentials of cryo-EM, cryo-ET and sample preparation via Instruct, iNext-D and MRC-WT cryo-EM training programmes.

Use the links below and the In This Section navigation to access training information and resources.

eBIC BAG User Training is available to the eBIC user base, courses and workshops are often opened to the whole cryo-EM community, and where possible eBIC aims to openly share materials from our training efforts.

The Harwell campus where eBIC resides, provides an excellent training environment with a critical mass of experts in X-ray, light and electron bio-imaging. It brings together expertise in instrumentation and technology development, high performance computing, software development and implementation of automated workflows, with a strong track record in organising workshops and symposia.

eBIC will leverage the local environment, working with CCP-EM, Diamond, Instruct and other centres, to meet the training demand from a broad range of users.
