Biography
Jasper completed his integrated master’s degree in physics at the University of Warwick in 2025. His master’s research focussed on applying machine learning and clustering techniques to reconstruct test beam interactions in liquid argon time projection chambers (LArTPCs), with an emphasis on particle identification and event reconstruction.
Jasper is currently a PhD student in computational chemistry and materials science as part of the Heterogeneous Systems (HetSys) CDT, working in collaboration with the University of Warwick and Diamond Light Source. His research will focus on reconstructing three-dimensional atomic structures of defective two-dimensional materials by combining electronic structure calculations, machine learning, and electron microscopy data. He is supervised academically by Professor Reinhard Maurer and Dr Richard Beanland at the University of Warwick, and by Dr Chris Allen at Diamond Light Source.
