Techniques and Disciplines

Dr. Hengli Duan joined I06 in 2025 as a beamline scientist and work on the laser-PEEM and AC-PEEM endstations. He received his PhD in 2020 from the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Following two years of postdoctoral research at USTC, he joined the MAXPEEM beamline at MAX IV Laboratory as a visiting researcher in April 2022. In July 2023, he became a Marie Curie PSI-FELLOW postdoc at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), collaborating with the PEEM and RIXS beamlines at the Swiss Light Source (SLS). His research focuses on advancing the understanding of magnetism in novel quantum materials, such as 2D van der Waals and kagome magnets, using magnetotransport, laser-based spectroscopy, and synchrotron-based techniques.
