I20-1 is now I20-scanning
I20-2 is now I20-EDE
Please reference the beamline and the branchlines with these new names in your publications.
1. Please discuss and provide detailed information about any equipment you require or wish to bring for the beamtime with your local contact. If gases are required, your requirements should be notified to the local contact when your beamtime is scheduled.
2. For gas experiments, please note the following:
Please consider minimizing the volumes and concentrations of gases as far as possible.
3. Any electrical equipment to be used during your experiment should be PAT (Portable appliance testing) tested. This includes power supplies, potentiostats, and controllers.
4. If you plan to bring a furnace or any other heating equipment, you must confirm that the equipment has been tested to its operating temperature prior to arrival at Diamond.
5. If you plan to bring equipment operating at high pressure, you will need to confirm that the equipment has been pressure-tested to 1.5 times its operating pressure.
Ensure that you submit the list of investigators for your experiment via the UAS at least three weeks before your scheduled beamtime, so that the useroffice can make arrangements for your accommodation.
The ERA for your experiment must be submitted at least two weeks before the experiment, so that it can be validated by Diamond Health and Safety in time for your experiments. If your ERA has not been validated, you will not be allowed to do your experiment.
Please ensure that all the samples that you are bringing to the experiment are included in the ERA, so that they can be risk assessed appropriately.
The ERA must also contain detailed information about the experiment, for e.g. Temperature, pressure, flow rate, duration, concentrations of gas mixtures, etc. if you are doing gas experiments.
Remember to request for lab access, otherwise you will not be able to use the lab. If you need to use the glove box, ensure that you have requested this in the ERA.
During your experiment you will have to log in to the beamline workstations using your Federal ID. Please make sure you have your Federal ID and password when you come for the experiment. You can find your Federal ID by logging in to Diamond UAS.
