The Power of Light zine project - (KS2)

In the STFC-funded Epistemic Insight Initiative project, The Power of Light, a series of resources have been designed and informed by co-creation activities, pilot lessons, and workshops that involved children in schools and with their families in community spaces. 

Zines use an appealing combination of text and images to create a concise comic-like narrative format to generate enthusiasm about a particular area of interest - the series of zines designed for this project focus on research taking place at Diamond Light Source.

Diamond: The Game - Print and Play free download - (KS3)

Simulations and worksheets - (KS4/5)

Diamond has developed a set of interactive simulations for teachers in conjunction with the Virtual Physical Laboratory to explain the physics of the machine, including electric fields, electromagnetic radiation and vacuum properties. Each simulation demonstrates how this knowledge is applied at Diamond and provides instructions and theoretical background information on each area.

To accompany these simulations are a series of worksheets for A-level students including extra information and example calculations.
