Diamond has currently a wide range of COVID-19 related projects underway ranging from the production of protein samples to supporting research on the basic components of the virus for the puropose of developing therapies.
Specialised facilities include fragment-based drug discovery (XChem) where small chemical fragments can be soaked into potential drug targets. A range of synchrotron and electron-based imaging techniques can be exploited to visualise the individual components and the life cycle of the virus over a wide range of length scales.
We have developed new scientific animated videos, demonstrating the work that has been done at Diamond's XChem facilities. Click here to explore the full series.
