The ‘resolution revolution’ has brought with it great advances for drug discovery, firmly establishing cryo-EM as a technique of great value to the field of structure-based drug design. Although the technique has been around for decades it has spent many years playing second fiddle to NMR and MX, the favoured techniques for understanding and guiding ligand:protein binding and design studies.
