Process Analytical Technology (PAT) is a critical tool widely employed across diverse industries, especially in manufacturing, to enable real-time monitoring and precise control of the production process. Its primary aim is to ensure the production of consistently high-quality products while minimising unwanted variability.
While the chemical and oil industries have historically employed various techniques for PAT analysis, a new study, involving Infineum UK, University of Leeds, and Diamond, has introduced a novel approach using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). This aims to address limitations in the information acquired from other techniques and open new possibilities for its use as a promising tool for applied research and development in the realm of Process Analytical Technology.
