Isabel joined the industrial XChem team in September 2022 after finishing her undergraduate degree at the University of Sussex. During her degree, she gained a solid understanding of protein preparation and macromolecular crystallography which led to the award of a first class MSci (Hons) in Biochemistry.

During her final year at university, she worked within the Genome Damage and Stability Centre in the Pearl/Oliver lab undertaking a project involving the expression and purification of DNA replication proteins for use in structural studies.

During the summer breaks whilst completing her degree she also completed two internships at Evotec, Abingdon where she gained experience in insect expression of proteins.

After two years developing her skill as a Research Technician for XChem, Isabel received a promotion in November 2024 to her current role. She looks forward to continuing her development within her new role.
