High throughput crystallography

High throughput crystallography on micron-sized crystals to uncover information beyond the reach of traditional methods and avoid costly re-crystallisation processes

  • Use of cutting-edge robotics streamlining the efficient handling of multiple crystals
  • Use fixed target serial crystallography to efficiently scan hundreds of crystals to search for polymorphs and gain bulk analysis information

Streamlined processing

Our streamlined processes help to easily follow up the sample logistics, and allow fast experimental throughput. The sample management interface ISPyB provides the perfect platform for you to combine and track information across diffracted samples, review your experiments, provide an overview of data quality, and facilitate analysis.

Expert support

Experts from our Industrial Liaison team and beamline staff are on hand to guide you throughout your experimental work to ensure you get the best results. If required, they can conduct both data collection and analysis on your behalf.

Sample environments

I19 beamline has an extensive range of dedicated sample environments enabling real-time, in-situ studies of structural changes under external stimuli, revealing how materials adapt to different conditions. This includes gas cells (0 to 200 bar), liquid pressure cells (0 to 1500 bar), high-pressure diamond anvil cells, electric field cells, LEDs, and pulsed high-intensity lasers.
