Advanced imaging for in-depth material analysis

Imaging techniques can be applied to a vast range of real-world research and development challenges as diverse as pharmaceuticals, food, engineering, oil recovery and consumer product development.

It can provide vital information such as density, physical structure, chemical composition, chemical states, and crystallographic perfection which can all be mapped in two, or increasingly, in three dimensions.

Here at Diamond, we have specialist beamlines to accommodate a wide range of imaging requirements, enabling the rapid acquisition of high-resolution images. These can be combined with other techniques - all co-located at the Diamond site - to acquire even deeper insights for your research.

Our dedicated team of expert scientists are accustomed to working with the challenges faced by industry. They can help you find solutions for even the most challenging of projects, supporting you from initial consultation through to experimental planning, data collection, analysis, and image modelling.

Imaging

Diamond offers a comprehensive range of non-destructive imaging techniques that provide accurate visualisations of objects in both 2D and 3D. Our advanced instruments can map various attributes, including density, physical structure, chemical composition, states, and crystallographic perfection.

By probing both external and internal structures down to the molecular level, our imaging techniques can unveil concealed or internal components with minimal impact on the sample. This makes our facilities invaluable for studying dense, very small, or sensitive materials, as well as samples undergoing rapid changes. Leveraging high-flux X-ray beams, we facilitate the swift capture of high-resolution images, catering to a broad spectrum of imaging needs across various fields.
