Diamond Light Source’s macromolecular crystallography facility for structural biology provides cutting-edge capabilities to determine the 3D structures of biological targets such as proteins and DNA/RNA, at atomic resolution. It enables pharmaceutical, biotech, and agrochemical companies to accelerate drug discovery and biologics development whilst uncovering valuable information regarding structure, conformation, stability, and flexibility.
The facility represents a unique offer to industry, providing world-class instrumentation and expertise within an integrated facility with established legal, data, sample, and user management support services.
The MX beamlines at Diamond incorporate advanced robotic systems and software for automated sample handling, crystal centring, and data collection. In addition, specialised MX beamlines with micro- and nano-focus capabilities are perfectly suited for studying small or challenging samples, as well as beamlines for serial crystallography and in situ data collection which are available for users. This is further complemented with world-leading automated data processing pipelines for the integration, scaling, and phasing of data in real time, for immediate structure analysis at the beamlines.
We can help you to make the most out of your MX experiments with the support of our dedicated, highly skilled, team of industrial scientists providing support for both the experienced structural biologist and users without any knowledge or facilities for structural work.
If MX is just part of your research journey, we can also provide a range of complementary techniques all available at Diamond. These include cryo-electron microscopy (eBIC), small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), circular dichroism and a fragment screening platform (XChem) as well as services available at the membrane protein laboratory and crystallisation facility.
